Nov. 14th G20 Economic Summit

2008-11-17

Bush and Taro Aso at G20 Summit November 14 2008This summit on Nov. 14th was hosted by George W. Bush in Washington D.C., and Bush took control by making it so that he is the only one that made any official statements. Which is a good thing, because the EU and Russia are planning on attacking our sovereignty. Bush also wised up and admitted that it was a mistake to support the bailout plan. Maybe he realized he was played like a puppet because he told ABC that he would of never supported the recent $700 billion dollar bailout If he was not told that If we did not act we were facing "a depression greater than the Great Depression."

To prevent overwhelming pressure for the major powers of Europe, Bush invited quickly developing countries, so called emerging-markets, to join G20 summit meeting. These countries include places like Brazil, China, India, Saudi Arabia and South Korea. This was a strategic move by Bush because these countries care about their sovereignty too, and don't want Russia and the EU meddling to much in their markets either. Developing countries are historically cautious of out-of-control international agencies.

There's much more that went on though, this is a historic moment for the state of our sovereignty. Which is why protestors were gathered around the summit that had signs that read "Money for people's needs, not bankers' greed,". You can read more at ABC news here and learn how the financial crime scene caused the financial system to fail.

Bush's defining moment?

2008-11-15

France and Russia collude against USMost of you have heard how Russia, EU, and the rest of Europe are planning to attack our free market system by removing it as the world's reserve currency to replace it with something else. Our free market system has been mishandled so much, it almost seems as If our own representatives are colluding with these foreigners to create this economic crisis so we'd be clamoring for some big solution to fix everything. This G20 summit isn't plans to fix anyone's economy, it's a plan to slaughter the last piece of the greatest free market system ever created on the face of this earth. More regulation is not the answer, world government is not the answer, we need free markets.

In a recent article, Russia and the European Union agreed to put pressure on our president George W. Bush. The EU even turned their back on us by telling Russia that it's ok for them to invade Georgia after we just got through telling them they can't. Bush isn't an idiot compared to those who run the EU and Russia. For example, he knows it's not ok for foreigners to tell Americans what to do in their own country. Would you let your neighbor tell you how to live in your home? No, I don't think you would. The last thing you or I want, are those idiots in Europe to decide how our economy is going to function let alone allow them to develop a new world financial system. For them to even be proposing this kind of garbage shows their incompetence and lack of understanding of how financial systems work. It's not even clear to these people how the crisis came about and they want to design an entire new system.

Art

Art

Adding modern art to your house is a good way to put the whole family in a better mood. When you see art, there's something about it that gives you that good feeling inside. It's almost equivalent to the feelings you get when your happy. That feeling from the art piece will help improve the home atmosphere. Which might be exactly what your family needs to have everyone being a bit nicer to one another. The difference it makes could surprise you.

Adding canvas art to a home should be something that everyone in the household should participate in. Don't try to make the decision alone, that may only dissagreements over the painting with your roommates / family. A good way to have everyone participate in an efficient manner is to choose a handful of canvas art you like and have everyone vote on which one should be bought. That way everyone will feel they had a say in the matter. Only choose enough so there will be atleast two votes on one piece though, or else the decision may last awhile. Everyone has different tastes so that's why I say to do it this way. For example I really like this piece from mywhitewalls.com:

Canvas art I've always felt that music plays a big part in our culture. The guitar is the most popular instrument among musicians today. Music influences the way we think about the world and ourselves. For me, this painting is true art to me, for others it may be crap, tastes vary.

Party Outside the Whitehouse on Election Day

2008-11-10

Hundreds of thousands of people came together to party all night long in front of the White House. The White House was surrounded by supporters who were gathered right up at the fence screaming 'yes we can' and other slogans. The shear number of the crowd was so great reporters decided that they rather take positions in police helicopters to cover the event.

GWB cartoon of pre-emptive strike on iran before leaving office

2008-11-08

There's a lot of george bush cartoons on the net but one new video spreading virally isn't so much a comedy to some people as it is serious. As you know a lot of people support Dennis Kucinich and his efforts to impeach George W. Bush. Those supporters are cautious of the executive branch which is showing signs they have grown beyond the consent of the governed. We are a nation that has a government, not the other way around. Our government has no power except that granted to it by the people. To be completely honest people are worried that the Bush administration will carry out a pre-emptive strike on another country before the Obama administration comes to power. Their main concern is a pre-emptive nuclear strike on Iran, a major oil exporter that exports around 2,520,000 barrels of oil per day, with each barrel containing 42 gallons of oil. If we were to damage that infrastructure there would be an immediate oil shortage and prices would spike sharply. This would cause businesses operating costs to jump up and then they may have to lay off people to afford to continue doing business. Also, consumer demand would go way down across the board because people would have less money to spend. The viral video though basically personifies GWB as a lame duck president, that wants to leave a legacy, but not a lame duck as in didn't do anything, but a lame duck as in he's ignorant. Inventor of mortgaged backed securities shutdown

2008-11-07

FDICThe man credited with inventing the mortgaged-backed security two decades ago had his houston based bank shutdown today. Apparently, Lewis Ranieri co-founder and chairman of Franklin Bank Corp. couldn't even save his own bank from this home loan bust that he helped create. His bank is the 19th bank the FDIC has had to shutdown this year. The FDIC said that all of Franklin Bank's deposits, totalling $3.7 billion, will be assumed by Prosperity Bank of El Campo, Texas. Don't believe me? Then go check it out for yourself on yahoo.

Independent Media

2008-11-07

newsPeople are looking toward independent media now more than ever. Is this a sign that people are beginning to distrust the major media outlets? I think so because people enjoy to read real opinions that don't have a hidden agenda behind them. For example everyone could tell during the elections that Fox was pro John McCain, MSNNBC was pro Barack Obama, and CNN was neutral but supported both candidates. Many believe the reason CNN started to support McCain was because John was paying for full hour time slots so he could be interviewed on Larry King live. So therefore, CNN wanted to keep that republican campaign money coming in.

Becoming your own independent media outlet is rather easy now of days and I see a lot of people that are successful at it. All it takes is you, the independent investigative journalist, webhosting, and some motivation. You can find the best web hosting by checking out the reviews at webhostingreport.com - top webhosting review site.

Obama Should Appoint Ron Paul as Treasury Secretary

2008-11-05

Nobody knows more or cares more about the economy than Rep. Ron Paul. He's been in the Ronald Reagan administration and has strong beliefs about the problems effecting the economy and how to solve them. Millions of American's fought hard in a grassroots campaign that spread across the net and almost gave Ron Paul the republican nomination for president of the United States. He raised more campaign money from US soldiers than any other candidate had and broke the record for the most amount of campaign money raised in a single day. That's how many people believe in Ron Paul. If you want an honest answer about what's plagueing the economy, all you have to do is watch his appearances on CSPAN or just look up clips on youtube.

Not only would he be an outstanding U.S. Treasury Secretary, he would also be the best foreign policy advisor you could ever choose. He believes in non-intervention, leaving other countries alone, bringing the troops home immediately that are stationed all over the world, and knows that we can accomplish a lot more through peace than through war. Just by doing that we would save hundreds of billions of dollars a year. Foreign policy and economics are tied together, for example it's a proven fact that war's cause recessions. Just look at the history books and read how the Russian's went into a depression because of a prolonged war and occupation of Afghanistan. Just watch this clip and see how wise and qualified Ron Paul is. He was able to predict the 2008 Russia vs Georgia conflict back in 2002.

2008-11-05

Our 44th elected president Barack Obama received a friendly congratulations from Bush today for his "impressive victory". He also extended an invitation for the elected president and first lady to come visit the White House, and hang out with him so that it will make the transition process easier. He also said that he would continue to conduct the people's business until his term ran out, and even went so far to promise to return to Texas on January 20th, the day his term expires. His final words were that hes looking forward to welcoming Obama and his family as soon as possible.

Christmas Holiday Cards

2008-11-04

Yeah, Christmas is coming soon, and it's one of those holiday's where you have to mail out lots of Holiday Cards to all your family members. It's worth it though, it's good to hear from family members you haven't been able to visit in awhile, but the worst part is that all the good holiday cards are expensive when you have to buy a bundle of them. I'f you want to save money on holiday cards this year then you should check out VistaPrint.com. You can order 10 holiday cards through them for only $3.99. It's also really easy to create a unique holiday card design and order from VistaPrint. They ship quick too, you will receive your custom cards in as few as three days. It doesn't take long to create a design either, just about 1 to 3 minutes, and the quality of the cards are always outstanding.

Election Day Stock Rally

2008-11-04

stock market rallyToday was the biggest election day stock rally since 1984 when Ronald Reagan was elected. That year the DOW jumped up 1.2%. Today may have been even better though. The S&P actually closed above 1,000 today, gaining 4.1%, and the Nasdaq had it's sixth consecutive daily rise. All of this stability is giving investors hope that the economy is recovering, and that there will be no more 300-1000 point daily up and down swings, a problem which has been plagueing the stock market for months. Since 2001 the markets have been in a slow decline, but recently the decline accelerated drastically, but the current stability and consecutive rally's make investors have hope for the future state of the economy.

The New York Times also wrote a good press release about this election day rally. It includes a lot of details about what went on today and the current state of the economy.

Im sure millions of us will be tracking the presidential results using CNN's election tracking tool all throughout today. Their also very upfront by detailing how CNN's projection process works and they even call it a 'projection' just so everyone knows they don't have the final say.

Insurance

2008-11-03

A good way to send your family out onto the street homeless is to not have mortgage protection insurance. Protection mortgage insurance will pay off your mortgage loan debt if you die. If you don't have this type of insurance when you die your house will be foreclosed on. If you have a co-signor, say your wife, and she can't pay the bill on time, then the house will still be foreclosed on and she will be out on the street. To prevent this from ever happening to your family then you need to have mortgage protection insurance.

Another good way to ensure your family can afford to pay the bills when your gone so they won't be kicked out on the street is to have term life insurance. Term life insurance is insurance that will give the family cash in the event you die. That cash will be plenty enough to help them out until they can figure out what their going to do without you. One place I know of where you can get cheap term life insurance is from an agency called NAA Life. They have a really great slogan too, "Americans for the family".

Former Aramco Exec Says Theirs Plenty of Oil Supplies

2008-11-03

oilA former Aramco executive came out recently stating that oil supplies are plentiful, and that peak oil is a myth. Aramco is a oil giant that's owned by the Saudi Arabia government. The former exec is named Nansen Saleri, and he believes the biggest problem we face is a shortage in oil reserves. From his own studies and calculations, he believes that there's over six trillion barrels of oil that we can recover right now with current standard technology.

Wal-Mart Caught Selling Lead-Tainted Face Paint

2008-11-02

This halloween Wal-Mart showed they've learned nothing from the consequences of selling lead-tainted products aimed at children. Instead of pulling these kind of products off the shelves, their just simply adding a warning label so they can legally justify the sale of them. This halloween thousands, if not millions, of children probably used this lead-tainted face paint sold at Wal-Mart, in the picture you see below. Right on the package it says it contains lead, but rarely people read those warnings.

Does War Cause Oil Shortages?

2008-11-02

explosionI predict as soon as we end the war in Iraq and Afghanistan oil prices will drop drastically. Why? because based on history oil shortages happen when countries that export oil are in war, which causes oil prices to go up. It's not such a out of the box prediction either, the Bank of Mexico predicts this too.

The other argument to my prediction would be that these countries want to control the flow of oil by nationalizing the oil industry, our big beef is that they won't privatize the industry allowing businesses from other countries to help them explore for and sell oil. It's hard to explore for oil in the middle of the desert, it's a tough job, it needs everyone's help, and besides these countries want to control the supply. This is a good argument but I think we're better off at home trying to conserve energy. This will hurt them the most because then they will need to shut down factories they paid millions or billions for just to stabalize the price of oil in their favor, all while selling less and less. Their selfish greed is only killing their industry a lot faster making room for more affordable alternative energy.

The Credit Crunches Effect On Business

2008-11-02

The credit crunch is simply bank resistance to give out credit. It's effecting us right now and the government is scrambling to solve it. That's why this bailout package was proposed, so that the banks wouldn't be so nervous about lending out money. The credit crunch is effecting online retailers and businesses who sell big ticket items the most. People are less likely to purchase online because consumers may be shocked when their credit card limits are suddenly cut in half and may decide not to use their credit card at all for awhile. It effects business who sell big ticket items like cars and homes because these items are usually purchased on credit by a majority of people. These businesses can see soaring sales then a sudden freeze where they may not get any sales at all some days.

Here's a good video to watch If you want to learn a bit more about the effects of the credit crunch:

American Startup Now a Huge Prescription Eyeglasses Player

2008-11-02

eyeglasses

Zenni Optical, an American company began in California, with humble beginnings, and now they are one of the biggest American online eyeglass retailers in the world. Being a smart consumer is all about buying products Made in the USA, even online, but that's not the only reason I like Zenni Optical.

Right now a lot of people are struggling just to pay the bills, let alone afford prescription eyeglasses. Through Zenni Optical there's a way out. You can get prescription eyeglasses for as low as $8. All you do is send them your prescription and pick the style of frames you want. You'll also need to know your pupillary distance. You can see what other's are saying about Zenni Optical here. Since this link is to a third party site not owned by Zenni Optical, you'll see that the feedback is sometimes brutally honest, but most of it is positive feedback. Most of the people are first off happy about the price, second off happy about the service, and third off satisfied with the eyeglasses they received.

Overall, Zenni Optical is a affordable and reliable service for eyeglasses. They have some of the lowest price frames around and will place your prescription met corrective lens in any frames you choose from their site. Although the most affordable, $8 frames, only come in a handful of select styles, they are styles that I think are the most popular, hense they need to mass produce and stock more of them at a time.
